India is on track to approach 2 GW of operational data-centre capacity by the end of 2026, according to CBRE. But the number that caught our attention is elsewhere: 92% of surveyed operators plan to add more than 100 MW during the next 24 months. Capital appears abundant too. CBRE reports approximately $173 billion of investment commitments since 2021, although commitments should not be confused with capital already deployed or facilities already operating. The harder question may now be physical. Data-centre sites need sufficient power, network connectivity, suitable land and viable cooling infrastructure. Meanwhile, more than 80% of existing Indian capacity remains concentrated in Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi-NCR. That creates a consequential decision for developers and investors: Does the next wave remain concentrated around established digital-infrastructure clusters, or does access to power and land begin pulling capacity towards new markets? Which constraint is actually determining site selection today: power availability, connection timelines, land, fibre, cooling, equipment lead times or approvals? And for the enormous announced pipeline, what proportion do you expect to make the journey from committed capital to powered, constructed and occupied capacity? We would particularly value evidence from developers, utilities, MEP engineers, land teams, operators, investors and connectivity providers working on actual projects. Share the discussion with colleagues who are making these decisions. Practical evidence from live projects can help distinguish genuine constraints from sector narratives. Where Vantage's participation-points mechanism is active and applicable, substantive participation can also earn points.
