Delhi Tightens PG Safety Rules After Satya Niketan Collapse
Delhi is tightening scrutiny of paying guest PG accommodations after a five storey building in Satya Niketan collapsed earlier this month, killing seven people and exposing wider concerns over the safety of student housing in the capital. A Municipal Corporation of Delhi survey of 2,453 PG accommodations has found significant compliance gaps. According to The Indian Express , only 31 buildings, or 1.2% of those surveyed, had a No Objection Certificate from the Delhi Fire Service.
