Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 30, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how TatvaOps uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on vantage.withtatva.ai and related pages. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. They help the Platform remember you, keep you signed in, protect against abuse, and improve your experience across blogs, forums, Vantage TV, Ask AI, and personalized feeds.
1. Why TatvaOps uses cookies
- Keep you signed in and maintain secure sessions.
- Recognize returning visitors for votes, comments, notifications, and feed preferences.
- Remember display preferences such as light/dark theme.
- Protect the Platform through rate limiting and fraud prevention.
- Measure aggregated usage to improve performance and content discovery.
2. Cookies we set
The table below describes key first-party technologies. Exact names may vary slightly by deployment.
| Name / type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| tatvaops_session | Encrypted admin/session state (iron-session). | Session / ~24 hours |
| next-auth.* | Sign-in session and CSRF protection for Google / WhatsApp OTP auth. | Session to ~30 days (provider-dependent) |
| tatvaops_fp | Pseudonymous browser ID for guests: votes, comments, notifications, feed prefs before login. Not HttpOnly (client-readable by design). | Up to ~2 years |
3. Local storage and similar technologies
TatvaOps may also store data in your browser's local storage for features that do not require a server round-trip:
- tatvaops_theme — light/dark mode preference.
- Vote and bookmark keys — remember upvotes/downvotes or saved items on your device to prevent duplicate actions and improve UX.
- Feed personalization — session diversity and preference hints may be stored locally and synced to your account when signed in.
Clearing site data in your browser removes these entries and may reset guest activity identifiers.
4. Third-party cookies
When you use certain features, third parties may set their own cookies:
- Google Sign-In — authentication cookies governed by Google's policies when you choose Google login.
- Hosting / CDN — infrastructure providers may set technical cookies for load balancing or security.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies to track you across unrelated websites on TatvaOps.
5. Strictly necessary vs optional
Session, authentication, security, and tatvaops_fp cookies are necessary for core Platform behavior (including guest participation). Theme and some preference storage are functional but not strictly required — the site will still work if you clear them, though your settings may reset.
6. Managing cookies and storage
You can control cookies and local storage by:
- Using your browser's settings to block, delete, or limit cookies per site.
- Clearing TatvaOps site data to reset fingerprint, theme, and local vote/bookmark state.
- Signing out to end authenticated sessions.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent sign-in, commenting, voting, or personalized feeds from working correctly.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals. TatvaOps does not currently respond to DNT signals with a uniform industry standard; we instead rely on this Policy, your browser controls, and account settings where available.
8. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add features or change technologies. Check the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be posted on this page.
