Interesting breakdown. Has anyone validated this with recent site execution costs?

Is Your Housing Budget Buying More, or Just Paying More?

From Vantage Editorial:

Homes above ₹1 crore now account for 55% of sales across the eight markets in Knight Frank’s January–September 2026 research, according to Outlook Money’s coverage.

That change does not tell us whether buyers are getting more space and better specifications, whether comparable homes have crossed into higher price brackets, or whether lower-budget options are becoming harder to find.

Our companion analysis examines those competing explanations and why a growing category does not automatically offer stronger investment returns.

We would like to bring the discussion down to actual neighbourhoods:

  1. When comparing homes in your locality, what has changed most: price, usable space, specifications or available choice?
  2. What evidence would convince you that a higher-ticket property offers better value rather than simply a higher asking price?
  3. If you are assessing an investment, how are you balancing achievable rent against the price and the likely resale market?

Comment in this thread with a specific comparison, practical experience or unanswered question. Include the locality and approximate budget if useful, but avoid personal financial details. Different interpretations and counter-evidence are welcome.
